Gary Neville has issued a warning to Liverpool ahead of their Premier League title match against Arsenal next weekend at Anfield. The Reds fell to second in the table following a 0-0 draw with Manchester United on Sunday evening.
Arsenal has recaptured top spot in the Premier League after defeating Brighton 2-0 earlier this afternoon. Goals from Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz were enough to secure all three points as the Gunners dominated the Seagulls.
Mikel Arteta was thrilled with his team's performance after the game, saying that they dominated the match and took their chances when it mattered. "Outstanding," said the Spaniard.
"Incredible from beginning to end. A big congratulations to the team against a top side.
"I think we had an incredible performance and deserved to win the game. I have to commend them because I know how difficult it is and what Brighton does to teams. We didn't let that happen, and I'm overjoyed."
Arsenal's title credentials will be put to the test next weekend when they travel to Merseyside to end a 13-game winless streak at Anfield. The Gunners will enter the encounter just one point ahead of Liverpool, looking to maintain their lead over the Reds at the end of the season.
However, Neville believes Jurgen Klopp's team could be in trouble if they repeat their performance against Manchester United. "Every game is different," Neville remarked during Anfield commentary, "but if Liverpool play like this against Arsenal next weekend, they could be down two or three goals right now."
